The Middle East Conflict

ELSA-Frankfurt (Oder) e.V. organizes an international conference on the Middle East Conflict.

ELSA Frankfurt (Oder) organizes an international conference on the Middle East Conflict. The focus lies on approaches to solution.
High-ranking representatives and renowned lecturers of both, the Israeli and Palestinian party, offer lectures to make the conflict and its historical, religious and political background accessible. The topics covered will reach from public international law issues, to the influence of international peace efforts  on the conflict and possible conflict solutions.
In Workshops the participants will take a look on central issues of the conflict such as peace efforts, water supply of the Palestinian territories or the political representation of the Palestinians to eventually find own approaches to possible solution.
The gained results will be presented and debated by the participants as delegates from different parties in a simulation of a UN Security Council Meeting.

Until now lecturers from Germany and Israel, as well as Arab lecturers and official representatives of Germany, Israel and the Palestinian side already confirmed their attendance in the conference.

The Conference is taking place from August 9th (day of arrival) till 15th (departure) at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder). The maximum number of participants is 50. You will find more information  here.
